As the June primaries and runoffs inch closer in South Carolina, the state’s Election Commission highlighted key dates for voters to remember.

Both the Democrat and Republican parties will hold primaries on June 11. South Carolina has open primaries, meaning anyone can vote in either party primary. However, voters can not cast ballots in both.

Those still needing to register to vote can do so online, here.

Voters can also download a voter registration form, complete it and return it to the county voter registration office through mail, fax or email.

Additionally, would-be voters can register physically at the voter registration office, at the DMV or at other state agencies.

The deadline to register to vote in person is Friday, May 10. The deadline to register to vote online, by fax or email is Sunday, May 12. The deadline to register to vote by mail is Monday, May 13 (must be postmarked by this date).

Voters can begin early voting in the primaries on Tuesday, May 28. Early voting runs through Friday, June 7. Early voting centers are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For those voting absentee, the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the primaries is May 31 at 5 p.m.

Election day voters can vote at polling places from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
