BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Idaho Capital Sun first reported that Governor Little has signed a bill criminalizing public breast exposure, but an addition to the bill could make life more difficult for law enforcement.
The bill is House Bill 270, which updates Idaho's indecent exposure law, which already bans public exposure of genitals. The addition to HB 270 includes banning artificial breasts and toys or products that resemble genitals. Breastfeeding has been exempted from the bill.
The legislation passed with strong support from Republicans in an 87 - 14 vote earlier this week.
Idaho Senate Minority Leader Melissa Wintrow said, while debating the bill, that she was concerned that an unintended side effect of this bill would be to increase the number of calls police receive about fake scrotums hanging from truck hitches, commonly referred to as "truck nuts." Wintrow said that she "talked to police and they said, 'Indeed it would.'"
