Carnegie Learning has been awarded the prestigious Tutoring Program Design Badge from Stanford University’s National Student Support Accelerator for the company’s high-dosage tutoring program. Only 24 companies have achieved the designation, awarded after rigorous third-party review for efficacy.

To receive the NSSA Tutoring Program Design Badge, the program was evaluated by a third-party team of education leaders to assess its alignment to rigorous Tutoring Quality Standards. The Badge is meant to act as a first filter to states and districts for quality to indicate that a program has a high-quality, research-aligned program design.

This recognition highlights Carnegie Learning’s commitment to maintaining rigorous standards in tutor selection, program efficacy, dosage, data privacy, and high-quality instructional materials.

“The evidence is clear; high-impact tutoring is proven to work when certified instructors engage with students on a frequent and consistent schedule,” said Barry Malkin, CEO of Carnegie Learning. “To be recognized with the prestigious NSSA Tutoring Design Program Badge is a tremendous honor. We hold our program to the highest standards to achieve unprecedented results for school districts – over 76% growth on average and, in one district, an average of 119% improvement on the PSAT from pre-to to post-test. This award is a testament to our commitment to deliver the best services to students.”

According to NSSA, “Carnegie Learning’s strengths include program design, tutor recruitment and selection, and tutor coaching and feedback. They have a comprehensive and customizable program design for districts and schools, a thorough tutor recruitment and selection process that uses video applications, performance tasks, and questionnaires to vet qualified candidates, and a focus on certified teachers to enhance the educator talent pool. Additionally, there is a structured observation process with a detailed rubric that allows coaches to identify specific areas for growth and provide tailored feedback and support to tutors.”
